I am totally in love with Skye.

She’s a barnyard mix of Appenzeller Spitzhauben, Polish, bantam Cochin frizzle and Lavender Orpington. She has beautiful soft feathers, great spangles and looks a bit like a Dalmation that stuck her beak in an electric socket. The feathers on her hocks make her look like she’s wearing polka-dot bloomers.

Skye is not only gorgeous but friendly and doesn’t mind me running my fingers through her feathers. Unlike most of my birds, Skye loves the camera and is always up for a photo shoot.

She hasn’t started laying yet but will probably lay a white or light brown egg.

  1. I love the beautiful feathers on Skye. She definitely is not camera shy.
