Phoebe is an OE (BC1). That’s a mouthful which, when translated, means she’s an Olive Egger, first generation backcrossed to a brown egg gene parent.

Her father is a Silver Laced Polish x Easter Egger who carries the blue egg gene, and her mother is a purebred Wheaten Marans, who lays a dark brown egg.

The result is a daughter that lays a khaki/olive coloured egg. If you’re looking to darken your olive eggs it’s better that the rooster carries the dark brown egg gene rather than the hen, as is Olive’s case.

I’m not sure what it is about her expression but she often looks like she’s perplexed.
