This cockerel was hatched by some folks who bought my eggs. His dad is a Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben x Silver Laced Polish, unknown mother.

Their kids originally called him Hey Hey, which was subsequently changed to Hei Hei, which sounds a little more exotic. He’s got the most perfect heart shaped spangles. If I could reproduce them consistently I’d be rich.

Do you remember The Monks song “Nice Legs, Shame About The Face”? That might apply to him – although he’s absolutely gorgeous he was born with a scissor beak, a common issue with incubator-hatched chicks.
