I’ve always been interested in language and am a self-confessed grammar queen. My parents were well read and encouraged me to explore the world through books. My favourite genre is international mysteries: I’ve read dozens from more than 33 countries around the world gleaning a bit of the culture, cuisine, religion and language of other places.
Despite having taken French for a few years in junior high school I never really learned to speak it. I did take Latin for two years in high school and that, surprisingly, has had a lasting impact on my understanding of English.
I starting playing around with the use of language in some of my memes and then went all out, ending up with more than enough for this post. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy them and it’s not a bit of overkill presenting them altogether.
