Christmas, for me, has always been about the holidays (time off from school or work), cooking and sharing great food, time spent with friends and family, the lights at night or reflected by the snow, the piney scent of the tree and of course, gifts. As you age, gifts come in different forms. I don’t have kids, or even have a lot of kids in my life, but I can still appreciate the feeling that I had for the holidays when I was young.
As I look back on the last year I’m appreciative of what I have, including the folks that I’ve met along the way as a result of keeping chickens: those that read and support this blog and my Facebook page, my guest contributors and collaborators, and fellow chicken keepers that I’ve been able to help. And of course, I appreciate my flock and all the gifts they have brought to my life. I recognize that this time of year isn’t always easy for some folks and for you I hope the best for the coming year.

Lovely! Merry Christmas!
