I thought I’d give you a little update on the birds I adopted from Joan, who was advised by her doctor to re-home them immediately due to health issues. I took in eight, Laurie, six and another Bitchin’ Chickens follower, a single Rhode Island Red pullet.
The birds I got are: 3 white Ameraucanas, one Crested Cream Legbar x and four Ameracauna x pullets (two are Mille Fleur D’Uccle x, I don’t know who the mothers of the other two are).
They have settled in nicely. The four older ones all lay blue eggs and two of the younger ones have just started to lay either blue or green eggs. I love the coloured eggs and they’re all both beautiful and friendly.

Aw, that’s lovely. Great pics too. They’re very pretty. I see this post is a few years old now. Do you still have all of them?

No, I don’t. I rehomed two of the white Ameraucanas and the Cream Legbar cross. Three of the Easter Eggers died: raccoon attack; Marek’s Disease; and avian gout. I still have two of them: the white Ameraucana with the big beard and a black EE – both still laying.
